Description

It was pretty hot out... All of the animals were tired.

*edit*... ok... so I only just found out how to change the info for the type of Camera. It was actually a Minolta X-570.

'Wow, it must have been hot' was my first thought, even before I read the artist comment. Basically, I think the artist caught a great moment, the usually so majestic-looking lion seems sleepy and a bit exhausted, even though lions should be able to handle heat well <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" title=";) (Wink)"/> But then again he has a great, big mane.
I think this is an original photo, because other sleeping lions seem more serene to me, this one really shows the sign of the hot day, he looks a bit defeated. But, as mentioned before, I think it's a wonderful moment caught, it's not the typical shot of a lion.

Although I think it's a good close-up, I don't like how the ear of the lion is cut off a teensy bit.
I also don't like the slight green tint in the photo, which does not look natural. I'm guessing this happened during the post-production, while trying to give the photo a semi-HDR look?

All in all, great work, especially for somebody who says he's 'new to photography'.
